The Punaschetana Charitable Trust is an organization created to help with the education and lives of differently-abled and mentally challenged kids who live in the rural villages of Kodagu. Right now, the complete program is funded by Baleyada Divya, the founder of the Punaschetana Charitable Trust, with her own salary. She puts every penny that she earns into this organization. With Divya’s experience as a home educator, a special needs teacher, and as a mobility instructor for the blind, she helps give a safe place of learning for these kids.
Punaschetana are seeing success and improvement in the kids’ lives. Some kids are learning the letters of the alphabet, while others are standing on their own two feet for the first time. Although these accomplishments are trivial for us, these are huge strides in these kids’ lives. Currently, we have around 15 kids under our care, between the ages of 8 to 19 years old. However, there are around 40 children in and around Napoklu that would benefit from the facilities of our school if they had the means of transporting the kids to school every day.
The amount of money that Divya brings in is unfortunately not enough. We need your help with these short term needs of the school.
Move into a new nicer rental building.
Uniforms for the children and teachers
Toys and play items for the children.
Proper footwear for the kids
Marginal salary increase for the two teachers
Start a mid-day meal program
A van/bus to transport the children to and from school.
